PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To design immersion medium which makes the implementation of a long term test possible and which has the optical property of water. SOLUTION: An immersion liquid for microscopy using water immersion objective has a refractive index of the range of 1.25 to 1.4 and a kinematic viscosity of greater the 20 mm2/s at 20°C.
