PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission unit reduced in the loss of light as the entire unit including an optical waveguide and optical fibers. SOLUTION: The optical transmission unit is composed of the optical waveguide which is disposed on a substrate, has both ends, and has a core part extending therebetween and a clad part formed around the core part and composed of material having the refractive index lower than the refractive index of the core part and the optical fibers which are optically connected to either one or both ends of the core part of the optical waveguide and contain a non-crystalline fluorine-containing polymer not substantially having C-H bonds.
