PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use the reference relation between a defined word and a reference word to extract two or more pieces of document data as groups having relativity each other. SOLUTION: Concerning two or more pieces of data D of relating object which have been acquired as a result 11 of a preprocessing search, by a reference relation processing part 6, data which a user has designated from an input part 3 is added to a candidate set 12, another data including contents for which a reference word included in the content of the relevant data is defined is added to the candidate set 12, links are provided between the another data and the relevant data, by a relating control part 7, the degree of self-reference is obtained which indicates the type of usage of defined words and reference words concerning the data added to the candidate set 12 and is compared with a designated standard value. The above processing is repeated until the degree of self-reference reaches the designated standard value, and then a candidate group 12 being an output object is formed and outputted from an output part 9.
