PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external gear pump smaller, lighter and less in parts count than an existing one, and easy to control and low in cost. SOLUTION: This external gear pump is composed to making a gear 2 function as a rotor of a brushless DC motor by polarizing an end surface of at lease one of a pair of gears 2, 3 externally contacting and meshing each other in a housing 1 in such a manner that S pole and N pole are alternately positioned in a circumference direction and arranging a motor stator 41 composed of a plurality of electromagnetic coils 41 to oppose to the polarized part 22.
