PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a throwaway type cutting tool wherein a tip is changed without perfectly removing a screw for fixing from a holder, the screw for fixing is fastened and loosened from the back side of a tip pocket, and a tip discharging property is excellent. SOLUTION: This cutting tool is constituted to fix the throwaway tip on the holder by placing the throwaway tip 7 having a seating surface provided with a female screw top 12 furnished with a screw hole 12a on a placing surface of the chip pocket 5 provided on a head end of the holder 1 and by screwing a head end portion of the screw 16 for fixing provided toward the placing surface from a surface of the back side against the placing surface of the tip pocket in the screw hole of the female screw top.
