PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the substrate of a liquid crystal display from bending and breaking even if a pressure is applied to the terminals of the electrodes. SOLUTION: Projections 21 are formed on the frame 13 of a back light unit 14 at the positions facing the electrode terminals 4 of a liquid crystal display panel 3. These projections 21 project in the direction to the liquid crystal display panel 3 and are made high enough to touch the surfaces facing both sides of the reverse surface edges of the electrode terminals 4.
