PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of easily and highly precisely manufacturing a cylindrical metal case from a metal plate by plastic forming. SOLUTION: A metal plate 20 is punched into a predetermined shape to form a side surface plate material 32, and the material 32 is rounded. Then, recesses 12 and protrusions 14 formed in a pair of end parts 30 opposed to each other are engaged and joined to form a cylindrical body 16. Next, the cylindrical body 16 is pressed into a female die 48 having an inner diameter equal to the prescribed outer diameter of its side surface, and a male die 50 having an outer diameter equal to the prescribed inner diameter of the side surface of the cylindrical body 16 is pressed into the inside of the cylindrical body 16.
