PURPOSE: A method for updating a channel map of a digital broadcasting receiver is provided to automatically search a changed channel to update the channel map. CONSTITUTION: Channel search is set to ON or OFF(1S). An idle tuner is selected from a plurality of tuners when channel search is set to ON(2S). Channel search is carried out through the selected idle tuner(3S). It is confirmed whether a channel signal exists through channel search(4S). When the channel signal exists, a channel corresponding to the channel signal is compared to a channel existing in a channel map(5S). When the channel is different from the existing channel, the channel is added to the channel map and the existing channel is deleted from the channel map to update the channel map(6S). Information about the channel signal of the added channel and the channel signal of the deleted channel is stored and displayed(7S). |
