HOME GATEWAY SYSTEM HAVING A POWER CONTROL FUNCTION, CONCERNED WITH PREVENTING UNNECESSARY POWER CONSUMPTION

PURPOSE: A home gateway system having a power control function is provided to decide that an inactive function module does not operate any more if the inactive function module is detected, and to cut off power supplied to a function module, thereby preventing unnecessary power consumption. CONSTITUTION: A signal input portion(500) is applied with a control signal. A main controller(600) generates a power control signal for controlling a driving power applied to each function module in response to the control signal, generates a standby setup signal for setting a standby state with regards to each function module, and selectively applies the standby setup signal to each function module. A power switching portion(800) turns on/off each function module in response to the power control signal.
