<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable distinguish between stillness and concealment of a tracking object. <P>SOLUTION: This system is comprised of a TV camera 1 and a device body 2; and the device body 2 is provided with an object extracting part 3 which extracts an area of an image that the tracking object is imaged from each time-series image obtained by the TV camera 1, an object tracking part 4 which tracks movement of the image area of the tracking object extracted in the object tracking part 3, and a border setting part 5 which sets a border of a concealing area concealing the tracking object from an imaging area of the TV camera 1 for the time-series image imaged by the TV camera 1. Outline of obstacles, such as a wall or a partition existing inside of the imaging area, is set in the border X, and the stillness and concealment of the tracking object can be distinguished because the tracking object (person) is determined to be concealed with the concealing area (wall) when the image area of the tracking object (person area H) disappears while contacting on the border X of the concealing area (wall area W). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
