MULTIDIRECTION DISPLAY LIQUID CRYSTAL DEVICE

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable two observers present in different directions to observe videos different from each other with one liquid crystal display device.

SOLUTION: A directional diffusion plate 2 having diffusivity in two directions is installed adjacently to a liquid crystal display element 1. Illumination light sources are disposed in the axial direction at the respective diffusion centers of the diffusion plate 2 behind the plate. The video for the left side and the video for the right side are alternately inputted to the liquid crystal in a time division manner. The illumination light source for the left side video is lit in the time when the video for the left side is inputted and the illumination light source for the right side video is lit in the time when the video for the right side is inputted.
