<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method for sorting waste catalysts containing a metallic catalyst-deposited carrier of an internal-combustion engine and without containing a chemical and a toxic substance, in which the waste catalysts can be resolved into various constituent materials which can be treated again, and in whose constituent material component, almost all catalytic noble metals for recovering are contained, even if the metallic catalyst-deposited carrier is mixed with a ceramic catalyst-deposited carrier in the state that the waste catalysts are disassembled. <P>SOLUTION: This method is used for sorting as the object to be treated the catalyst-deposited carrier which is disassembled as it is connected to an exhaust gas pipe and contains its metallic cover, a magnetic carrier foil, the ceramic carrier and a carrier foil, a coating film arranged on the ceramic carrier for increasing its surface area and noble metals. The method comprises a step to crush the metallic cover of the catalyst-deposited carrier connected to the exhaust gas pipe by a single-stage shear crusher, a step to separate the exhaust gas pipe from the catalyst-deposited carrier containing the nobel metals by an impact crusher, and a step to sort the object to be treated into the exhaust gas pipe, the metallic cover and the catalyst-deposited carrier containing the noble metals by using a sorter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
