PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing an organic solvent by adsorption which does not require the reactivation of activated carbon fiber (ACF) over a long period, moreover, is capable of efficiently recovering the organic solvent adsorbed by the ACF, and further, does not reduce the recovery efficiency of the organic solvent so much even when repeatedly using the ACF, when the organic solvent is removed from gas containing the organic solvent by using the ACF.
SOLUTION: In this method for removing the organic solvent by adsorption, the organic solvent is removed by adsorption by bringing the gas containing the organic solvent into contact with the ACF. Therein, the organic solvent comprises an organic compound of carbon number 6-12, and the ACF has micropores on the surface and is a pitch type ACF exhibiting a micropore volume distribution curve A formed by plotting micropore diameters as abscissa and micropore volumes corresponding to the micropore diameters as ordinate in which the micropore volumes are≥0.1 ml/g over the whole range of the micropore diameters 2.5-5.0 nm.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
|
