PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet printer wherein bubbles stored in a bubble storing chamber mounted together with a recording head on a carriage are efficiently removed. SOLUTION: In what supplies ink to the recording head 34 carried on the carriage 17 from an ink tank which stores the ink, a bubble removing means 61 is set at a standby position of the carriage. A lift body 66 is moved up by a horizontal movement of a translation cam body 96, and a valve rod 56 is pushed up by a release rod 62, whereby an opening and closing valve means 41 is opened for a suction path 47 which communicates with the bubble storing chambers 40a-40d. Liquid levels of the bubble storing chambers 40a-40d are pushed up by a positive pressure applied by an air pump. The stored bubbles are discharged through the opened valve means 41.
