PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image sensor having a compensation function for a defective pixel. SOLUTION: The image sensor includes a switching part 700 for switching out pixel data Pixel (i, j) corresponding to a present address from a line memory part 200, a defective pixel correcting part 600 for receiving data PIXEL [I, J] of surrounding pixels including the Pixel (i, j) from the memory 200 with a row address select signal RASS of the defective pixel, a column address signal DPCA of the defective pixel and an information signal LineEnd of a final column as control signals, receiving the Pixel (i, j) from the switching part 700 and outputting corrected pixel data PIXEL<SP>*</SP>[I, J], and an image signal processing part 300 for performing signal processing for improving performance of the image sensor.
