The roof frame reinforcement for a motor vehicle has a longitudinal beam (11) to stiffen the side section of the roof frame. The stiffener fits between the inner (2) and outer (1) sidewalls of the roof frame. The beam has a holder (16) for attachment of a handgrip and a mounting for a side airbag. The beam can have a frontal holder and mounting group for the front seats and a similar rear group for the rear seats.
