METHOD AND DEVICE FOR COMPRESSING DYNAMIC RANGE OF SOUND SIGNAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for compressing the dynamic range of a sound signal by which the dynamic range can be compressed while maintaining the feeling of punch in the sound signal having a wide dynamic range.

SOLUTION: A gain control circuit 10 arranged behind a limiter 1 compensates a part contributing to the feeling of volume in a change in a sound signal level damaged by making an input sound signal pass through the limiter 1 so as to compress the dynamic range while maintaining punch obtained from the input sound signal.
