<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a time required for switching compensation quantity of spherical aberration. <P>SOLUTION: A spherical aberration compensation control device (104) controls a spherical aberration compensation part (112) compensating spherical aberration of an optical beam with which an optical disk is irradiated. The spherical aberration compensation control device (104) is provided with a spherical aberration control signal generating part (12) generating a spherical aberration control signal, and an output part (14) outputting a spherical aberration control signal to a spherical aberration compensating part, compensation quantity compensating spherical aberration by spherical aberration compensating part (112) is varied in accordance with each component of a spherical aberration control signal, the spherical aberration control signal generating part (12) generating the spherical aberration control signal so that sum of compensation quantity in accordance with each component of the spherical aberration control signal is made zero substantially. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
