ENROLLING/SUB-ENROLLING OF DIGITAL RIGHT MANAGEMENT (DRM) SERVER INTO DRM ARCHITECTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for rendering/playing digital contents and defining them by a contents owner/developer.

SOLUTION: A plurality of DRM servers executing a digital right management (DRM) function are arranged, and an entering DRM-E server is enrolled into a system by a DRM-R server to be trusted within the system. The DRM-E server feeds an enrollment request including an identifier and a public key (PU-E) to the DRM-R server. The DRM-R server verifies the identifier and creates a digital enrollment certificate by using the public key (PU-E) about the DRM-E server for enrolling the DRM-E server into the DRM system. Using the digital enrollment certificate, the enrolled DRM-E server issues a DRM document within the DRM system.
