PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration-proof rubber structure which reduces the deflection in supporting a large downward weight while maintaining the elastic function in a main vibrating direction, and heightens the vibration absorption characteristic in the longitudinal direction and the right-to-left direction, and is ready for any unexpected condition such as sudden impact, and a compacting device having the same. SOLUTION: In the substantially columnar rubber structure, a rubber member 1 is held between two hard boards 2 and 3, and the rubber member 1 has short fiber 1a oriented substantially in the axial direction.
