PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a van body structure capable of setting the height of its luggage compartment as desired without impairing the features of a rivetless van having a side panel consisting of a continued single piece of plate. SOLUTION: The van body structure is arranged so that a roof rail 6 can be supported at a higher level by extending the outer side face 4a of a top rail 4 covering the top of the side panel 1. Because the roof rail 6 supports a roof panel 8, the height of the luggage compartment H can be set larger without changing the height itself of the side panel 1, i.e. without any changing the the width of an outer plate 2 (height) as a single piece of plate generated by cutting an aluminum coil having a certain width in accordance with the length of the side panel.
