PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forming machine which sufficiently improves a spatial limitation for giving an additional facility, as a matter of course to the improvement of the workability of change the setting. SOLUTION: The forming machine is arranged with a fixed platen 11 for supporting a fixed die 12 at the one end side on a base 10, and on slide units 18, 19, a movable platen 13 for supporting a movable die 14 and a supporting table 15 for supporting each one end part of four tie bars 16 are laid, and the die clamping is performed by advancing the movable platen 13 and the supporting table 15. Further, the tip end part of each tie bar 16 is locked to the fixed platen 11 with a lock mechanism 28, and the die clamping power is generated by working a die clamping cylinder 31 arranged in the movable platen 13 to perform the formation. Thereafter, the lock mechanism 28 is operated to unlock movement, and the movable platen 13 and the supporting table 15 are retreated to die opening position and further, the die clamping cylinder 31 is released with a fitting/removing mechanism 33, and only the supporting table 15 is much retreated from the movable platen 13, and the four tie bars 16 are perfectly retreated from the surroundings of the dies 12, 14.
