PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance a sealing property and a maintenance property of a seal device in a web immersion tank for in-liquid-conveying an aluminum web. SOLUTION: The seal device 36 is provided on a tank body 30 and a gap between a shaft 32a of a conveying roll 32 and a shaft hole 30a of the tank body 30 is sealed. A seal chamber 60 and a flushing chamber 61 are provided on a casing 50. Water 63 is circulated into the flushing chamber 61. Sodium silicate liquid 17 slightly leaked from a mechanical seal 59 is dissolved in water 63 in the flushing chamber 61 and is discharged. Since the leaked sodium silicate liquid 17 is not solidified, generation of failure of rotation of the roll is inhibited. A fixed ring 51 and a rotation ring 52 as the mechanical seal 59 are arranged in the seal chamber 60. The casing 50 and the fixed ring 51 and the rotation ring 52 can be divided to two parts while clamping the shaft 32a. The shaft 32a and a bearing 57 can be removed without removing the shaft 32a from the bearing 57. Thereby, the maintenance property is enhanced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
