<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor memory card capable of eradicating illicit operation such as acquisition of contents of a deleted file. <P>SOLUTION: In occurrence of a deletion event, a deletion handler 16 creates a clear processing management table inside a TRM. Among files, file entry and null clearing of an FAT is carried out with high priority. The null clearing on a file entity part includes a deletion event 16 and is distributed to be performed between a plurality of even handlers 12, 13, and 14.
