<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein an image desired to be printed cannot be chosen, unless a user performs index printing of all image data in a memory card when a printer is not equipped with a viewer function which displays image data in the memory card. <P>SOLUTION: A printer communicating with a host computer has; an interface which can attach or detach a storage medium storing image data; an operation section which receives user's operation; and a transmission means which transmits the image data taken in from the storage medium via the interface to the host computer according to the operation to the operation section. The transmission means transmits the image data and an instruction for displaying the image data on a display device of the host computer according to the operation, the operation section has a setting section for setting print, and the operation to the setting section is reflected to the image to be displayed on the display device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
