<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast viewing control system capable of performing control that makes only a particular receiver receive digital broadcast by attaching control information for viewing control and transmitting the control information from a transmitting station in the case of retransmitting the digital broadcast in a CATV system, and to provide its method. <P>SOLUTION: The transmitting station is provided with a means for substituting the data byte part (data except packet header) of the packet for carrying a digital broadcast signal with the data byte part of another packet, and a means for transmitting substitute pattern information for a PID (packet ID) of the packet substituted by the substituting means. The receiver is provided with a means for receiving the substitute pattern information on the PID of the transmitting station on the basis of the receiver identification number of the self-device, and a means for selecting a program on the basis of the substitute pattern information of the received PID. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
