<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To incorporate a paper document in a digital world document management system; to directly access a digital world by using a paper document as a medium; and to realize a hypertext using a paper document. <P>SOLUTION: Image data are read from medium paper wherein at least one piece of description information comprising any of a word, a sentence, a symbol and a graphic, connection information for connecting the description information to a related information file of a file means, and selection information for selecting a specific piece of the description information from the description information are recorded; the selected related information file is identified based on the selection information and the connection information in the read image data; the address of the relevant related information file is outputted; the address of the related information file is inputted; the relevant related information file is retrieved based on the address of the related information file; and the retrieved related information file is outputted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
