PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize a sector area by recording predetermined data used for file discrimination to prevent illegal copying in the vacant area of a sector secured for recording a file, and to prevent illegal use of the file. SOLUTION: By a recording means in a CD medium, in the sector of the CD medium in which a real file 30 is recorded, predetermined data 31 is recorded in a vacant size which is a difference between the size of the file and the recordable size of the sector. By recording the predetermined data 31 in the vacant area of the sector secured for recording the file, the predetermined data 31 used for determining illegal copying can be carried out without using another sector so as to record the file.
