PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish compatibility between high mobility and off current reduction in an organic semiconductor element comprising a substrate, a gate electrode, a gate insulating film, an organic semiconductor layer, a source electrode, and a drain electrode. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal substance is used for the organic semiconductor layer for liquid crystal orientation control in an organic semiconductor element comprising a substrate, a gate electrode, a gate insulating film, an organic semiconductor layer, a source electrode, and a drain electrode. The method eliminates the conventional trade-off relationship between high mobility and off current reduction in organic semiconductor elements, avoids the defect of extensive difference in performance between them, and prevents mobility reduction to result when they are manufactured by coating.
