PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a package with a release mechanism which can easily be released from a cage and can easily release an optical fiber connector. SOLUTION: The package with the release mechanism is equipped with a package main body 4 which has a socket opening 3 where the optical fiber connector 2 is inserted and extracted and is inserted into the cage 5 in a free extraction state and locked in an unlockable state, a latch stop part 9 which is provide at an edge of the socket opening 3 locks a latch part 8, projecting from a direction crossing the insertion/extraction direction from a connector main body part 13 of the optical fiber connector 2, from moving in an extraction direction, and a release member 10 which is provided in the package main body 4 slidably in the insertion/extraction direction and has a tapered part 26 for connector release pressing the latch part 8 in toward the connector main body part 13 as it slides.
