PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handling method of a bead which make the whole of equipment compact and space-saving and can improve operability and productivity by speeding up the cycle of changeover of a member and equipment therefor. SOLUTION: The handling equipment comprises a bead core hanger/rack device 1, a bead filler forming device 2 which sticks a filler F to a bead core K and forms a complete bead W, a multistage transfer device 3 which moves back and forth along a guide rail G between the bead core hanger/rack device 1 and the bead filler forming device 2, and a separator takeout device 4. The transfer device 3 is so constituted that it holds the bead core K hung by a hanger arm 7a, carries it to the bead filler forming device 2 along the guide rail G laid between the transfer device and the bead filler forming device 2 and carries the complete bead W formed by this device 2 to a hanger arm 7b on the lower stage side, so as to put it across this arm.
