Processing range-images of objects for manufacturing processes, by determining elementary geometric characteristics, and extracting process-oriented characteristics

The method involves recognizing an object to be processed from the range images, and determining its geometry. For use in following processing processes, relevant characteristics of the surface of the object are detected, located and characterized.
