<p>The rotor blades (1) consist of thin foil sails (6,7,8) and a grid (3,4,5). The sails are connected to a crossbeam (10) of the grid by a hinge (9). As the wind acts on each sail in turn they are pressed against the grid to develop a rotational force whilst the second sail lifts to permit the blades to rotate. The grids are flexible to enable them to regain their shape.</p> |
