<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver element for a thermal dye transfer process, which includes a release agent providing excellent heat stability in extrusion, which is excellent in dye capture amount and retransfer resistance, and which is equipped with an image accepting layer enabling effective print in a thermal printer. <P>SOLUTION: This dye-receiver element for thermal dye transfer, which comprises a substrate and a dye image receiving layer located on one side of the substrate, is characterized as follows: the dye image receiving layer includes a thermoplastic binder material; and at least one release agent, which exists in effective quantities in the dye image receiving layer, includes a siloxane-containing polymer with a mass average molecular weight of at least 150,000 and a viscosity of 10,000, 000-50,000,000 mm<SP>2</SP>/s (centistokes or cST). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
