<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymerizable composition which has a small specific gravity and excellent optical characteristics, can form lenses having high adhesiveness to hard coats, and is used for the lenses, to provide a lens, and to provide a lens for spectacles. <P>SOLUTION: This polymerizable composition for the lenses is characterized by adding a cross-linkable monomer and a secondary hydroxy group-having (meth)acrylate compound to a urethane bond-containing monomer obtained by subjecting a component (A) comprising an active hydrogen-having (meth)acrylate compound containing an aromatic group, a component (B) comprising an aromatic group-containing diisocyanate compound, and a component (C) comprising an aromatic group-containing polyol compound to a urethanization reaction. The lens is produced by molding the polymerizable composition for the lenses as a molding material by a cast polymerization method.
