PROCESSING METHOD FOR REACTIVE FLUE GAS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of efficiently removing, by combustion, methyl bromide contained in a reactive flue gas together with the other inflammable substances after collecting acetic acid from the reactive flue gas produced from an oxidation reactor and efficiently collecting its pressure energy by a gas turbine when aromatic carboxylic acid is manufactured.

SOLUTION: In this method, the reactive flue gas containing the inflammable substances is processed by combustion together with methyl bromide by collecting the acetic acid from the reactive flue gas produced from the oxidation reactor and collecting its pressure energy from the gas turbine when the aromatic carboxylic acid is manufactured under the presence of catalysts including a bromine compound from an aromatic compound with alkyl substitution by using acetic acid solvent under pressure in the oxidation reactor. The methyl bromide and the inflammable substances together with fuel are processed by combustion at a temperature of 820°C or higher in a heat storage type combustion furnace.
