PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for guaranteeing authenticity of electronic data stored in a database and guaranteeing authenticity of backup data. SOLUTION: As to the electronic data in the database, a hash value is found by a record unit according to a hash function, and as to a summation of the records in a table, the hash value is created according to the hash function to be stored. The hash value is disclosed in certificate form, and only the electronic data area matching the certificate is backed up in an external storage device. The hash value is calculated from the electronic data in a backup file to be compared with that described in the disclosed certificate, and authenticity of the backup file is verified.
