PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode-ray tube, an electron gun for the cathode-ray tube, and a method of assembling the electron gun attaining improved focus characteristics and landing performance by improving relative positional precision of each of grid electrodes that constitute a three-pole section. SOLUTION: A second grid electrode G2 is made up of a plate-shaped grid electrode member 24 and a cup-shaped grid electrode member 26 that have electron beam passing holes 22 and 25, respectively. The cup-shaped grid electrode member 26 is mounted on an assembling device so that the electrode member 26 and a cup-shaped third grid electrode G3 overlap each other. Then, the plate-shaped grid electrode member 24 is mounted via a spacer 32d, and the grid electrodes G1 to G6 are integrated using an insulating support 21. The spacer 32d is then removed, and thereafter, the cup-shaped grid electrode member 26 is moved toward the plate-shaped grid electrode member 24 so that they are welded to each other to make up the second grid electrode G2.
