PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems with a combustion apparatus less discharging nitrogen oxide wherein a thermocouple is not heated to a specified temperature in normal combustion when the thermocouple is disposed facing flame since the flame from a primary burner port is unstably burned in an insufficient oxide state and a thermocouple cover to arrange the flame from the primary burner port is installed at both side upper parts of the primary burner port facing the thermocouple since an oxygen deficiency cannot be securely determined due to a small difference in detected temperature between normal combustion and oxygen deficient combustion, and cost is increased. SOLUTION: The tip part of the thermocouple TC is disposed near a burner port plate 23 at the burner port between primary burner ports 24 adjacent to each other.
