PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid level detecting valve for a fuel tank capable of correctly detecting a liquid level of fuel in the fuel tank, and securely making opening/closing action without generating malfunction. SOLUTION: This liquid level detecting valve for a fuel tank comprises a cylindrical main body 3 comprising an upper end wall having a valve seat 8 and a lower end wall having a liquid drain hole 16, and having one or more liquid inflow holes 19 formed in an axially middle part of a circumferential wall, a float 4 having a valve head 5 at an upper end part stored to be vertically movable, and a shutter float 6 to open/close the liquid drain hole 16 installed on a lower end part of the body 3 to be vertically movable.
