PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shifting type rod supply apparatus which loads the rod by shifting a rack to a rod loading position where the rod is efficiently and safely loaded and successively shifts the rack to a rod supplying position to supply the rod to a rod replacement machine. SOLUTION: The shifting type rod supply apparatus 6 supplies the rod onto the rod replacement machine 7 for replacing the rod for molten iron tapping hole opening machine. The shifting type rod supply apparatus is provided with the rack 1 for loading the rod, a connecting member 2 for connecting the rod replacement machine to the rack, a fitting member 3 for fitting the connecting member turnably and removably to the rod replacement machine and the rack, guide rails 4 for guiding the rod supplying apparatus driven with the connecting member to the prescribed position and wheels fitted to the rack and for shifting the frame table along the guide rails.
