PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new organosilicon compound which is suitable for introducing a diphenylpentyl group to a polymer, preferable and useful as a raw material for producing a silicone having a high refractive index containing a phenyl group. SOLUTION: The organosilicon compound is represented by formula (1) (X is a hydrolyzable group; Rs are mutually the same or different and are each a substituted or nonsubstituted monofunctional hydrocarbon group; n is an integer of 0-3).
