PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque limiter of easy maintenance, and simple constitution, that is compact and economical, capable of securely stably conducting torque transmission, reducing oppression force of a torque transmitting ball by a spring when torque transmission is disconnected by overload for restricting abrasion and improving durability, and reducing the number of replacement for abraded parts. SOLUTION: An overload protective mechanism is provided with a lock recess 1 for an input side rotary body A, a pocket hole 7 for an output side rotary body B, the torque transmitting ball 12, a plurality of small abutment balls 11, a cone plate 10, and the spring 9. In a torque transmission state, the small abutment balls 11 get in contact with the inner circumferential side of an inclination surface 10a of the cone plate 10. In a non-torque transmission state, the small abutment balls 11 get in contact with the outer circumferential side of the inclination surface 10a. When the torque transmission state is changed into the non-torque transmission state, the small abutment balls 11 get abutted on the torque transmitting ball 12 at such positions that they get further apart from a center line of the pocket hole 7.
