PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always and stably operate an electronic component placed on a circuit substrate for a long period of time by preventing the circuit substrate from being damaged. SOLUTION: The circuit substrate includes a metal base 1 formed into a rectangular shape including a plurality of overhanging parts 1a extended to the outside for externally mounting and formed at the side face, and an insulating board 2 brazed to the upper surface of this base 1 and made of substantially the same ceramics as the base 1 of the shape as seen in plane. In the circuit substrate, the insulating board 2 has the metal layer 2c of the width larger than that of the root of the overhanging part 1a at the portion disposed directly above the overhanging part 1a of the side face.
