The device has friction wheel (40,42), adjusting element (30) with drive (34) and regulator (70), and a driven conveyor element (50,52). A friction wheel is born turnable at each end of a spring plate (10). The spring plate is moved into a first active and a second passive bent condition by the adjusting element, so that the friction wheel is in active contact with the conveyor during active position. The adjusting element is formed by a cam plate with min and max. radius, and continuous transition between the two. The spring plate is of spring steel.
