The method for operating an anti-lock braking (ABS) or electronic stability protection (ESP) function motor vehicle brake which uses an electric motor (3) to move the brake pads against the brake disc involves underpinning the normal operation of the motor in defined regulation phases of the brake system by converting the force component produced in the wheel. The additional force can be transferred using an additional actuating and connection (11,12) from the motor to the brake disc.
