A compound material, for the housing and acoustic structure of a loudspeaker, is a cold setting or foam cast resin with embedded expanded plastics foam spheres. The spaces between the spheres are filled with the cast resin. The spheres have a diameter of 1-8 mm. The ratio of the cast resin to the foam spheres is a maximum of 1:2.
