A data signal transmission control apparatus (10) includes a connection unit (17) for connecting a plurality of first lines and one or more second lines which are contained in a switching apparatus (PBX (a)) between the first lines and the second lines for transmitting an audio signal, a control unit (18) for controlling the connection operation of the connection unit, and isolation/insertion units (15, 16) for isolating a data signal flowing on one of the lines connected by the connection unit and inserting it onto the other line. By using an ADSL modem, a splitter, and the transmission control apparatus (10), it is possible to prepare a connection environment to the Internet for each telephone installation place (such as rooms in a hotel) without modifying the telephone extension line system using the PBX (a).
