Method for logging on of a user (10) mobile network unit (60-65) to a wireless LAN via an access point (401, 411, 421), whereby: the mobile network unit transmits a user identification code plus auxiliary information defined by the user to a network server (30); the server generates a password based on the identification code and auxiliary information and transmits the password to the user via his mobile phone (20) and a mobile phone network (51); and the user logs on to the WLAN using said password (22). The invention also relates to a corresponding system.
