<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device of internal combustion engine capable of removing the particulates captured by a filter in good performance and suppressing clogging of the filter with particulates. SOLUTION: When a deviation is generated in the deposit amount of particulates between two capturing surfaces of the filter 24, a selector valve 25 is changed over so as to lessen the deviation, followed by coordination of the positional relationship about the upstream and downstream in exhaust of the capturing surfaces. Thereupon the capturing surface which has more deposit receives a promoted oxidation and removal of particulates than the other capturing surface having less deposit. Accordingly the deposited particulates on the capturing surface with more deposit are decreased properly, and increase in the deposited amount of particulates in the whole filter 24 is suppressed.</p> |
